A beautiful hike in the deep southwest of Sardinia, departing from Villacidro. You will visit the rural and medieval church of S. Sisinnio, where you will learn about the history of the patron saint of Villacidro. After about 12 km of driving in wild landscapes, you will reach the beginning of the trekking path accompanied by a very good local guide. A simple and charming path awaits you, immersed in the Mediterranean maquis. After a nice walk, you will arrive at the archaeological site of the Tombs of Matzanni, a unique site because it consists of three sacred wells. Considered a wide area of worship, place of worship, trade, but also of very strong political importance. Who was the god to whom the worship of the water was addressed and what was the ceremonial practiced inside and outside the wells? Many curiosities to take a dip in the oldest past of the sardinian Island!
