Immerse yourself in the history and nature of Sardinia in complete autonomy in Santa Teresa Gallura, at the northernmost tip of the island.
You will discover the nuragic and multimedia archaeology exhibition "Lu Brandali: Read Touch and Listen," the archaeological site Lu Brandali and the Spanish Tower of Longonsardo. You will visit the interior of the archaeology exhibit that preserves original artifacts from the last two years of excavation and experience immersive exploration thanks to viewers that reproduce the 3,000-year-old giants' tomb and part of the village in 3-D and audio-tactile devices that can be used by the blind and visually impaired. Next you will explore the archaeological site Lu Brandali with a nature and cultural trail among olive trees, mastic trees framing the giants' tomb and the nuragic village until you reach the fortification tower. Your visit will end at the Longonsardo Tower, a 16th-century monument from the Spanish era.
Don't miss this experience that will take you back to various eras of Sardinian history!
The tour is not guided, but the exhibition "Lu Brandali: Read Touch and Listen" is supported by written explanations and is fully translated into Braille, English, French and Spanish. For the latter language, you will need to request a handout upon arrival.
For the visit to the archaeological site of Lu Brandali, you will need to download the audio guide to your smartphone upon arrival, via QR code in the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish, German and Russian.
For the tower visit, however, you will be provided with a brochure available in Italian, English, French, German and Spanish.
The destinations must be reached by your own means of transportation, 500-800 meters away from the center of the town of Santa Teresa Gallura: the archaeological site Lu Brandali is located on the provincial road 90 in the direction to Capo Testa; the Tower of Longonsardo, on the other hand, is located in Viale Bechi 300 meters from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele I in Santa Teresa Gallura.
The archaeological site Lu Brandali has a small food court, restrooms, book shop and outdoor picnic area.
Wheelchair users and strollers can access the interior of the archaeological exhibition, but they cannot reach the nuragic village or access the Tower of Longonsardo due to the presence of architectural barriers such as historic stairways and inaccessible paths.
To ensure an optimal experience with the audio guide, earphones compatible with all smartphones will be provided and must be returned at the end of the visit. A valid ID is required for use and will be returned when the earphones are returned.
Alternatively, you may use your own personal earbuds.
