Here in the month of June, sheep are relieved of the warm wool by shearing, a very important activity from which also derives the art of weaving and the wonderful Sardinian carpets, made with the peculiar techniques that each village has by tradition. With the guide's help and directions, you will have the opportunity to try manual shearing.

In the proximity of animals, it is essential to maintain a calm and respectful behavior, avoiding shouting or abrupt gestures, as they could easily become frightened. A calm attitude will help make them feel safe and comfortable.
The tour begins with a welcome from the hosts, who will take you on an illustrative walk around the farm. You will meet and learn about many animal species besides the Sardinian sheep: llamas, alpacas, peacocks and many varieties of birds from all over the world.
The core of this tour takes place in the sheepfold, where you will enter the heart of the shepherding tradition. After an introductory briefing, you will attend a shearing demonstration: an art handed down through generations, fundamental to the processing of Sardinian wool and the well-being of the sheep. Under the expert guidance of shepherds, you will experience first-hand the techniques used, learn the differences between manual and mechanical tools, and touch the freshly sheared wool. You will discover how this precious raw material is processed into elaborate fabrics and artefacts, the symbol of Sardinian craftsmanship.
Each of these practices is carried out in full respect of safety protocols and animal rights.
At the end of the experience, you will be welcomed into the farm building where a selection of genuine local products, based on seasonal availability, accompanied by water and wine, will be offered for tasting.
