Description

In the territory of Cargeghe, in north-western Sardinia, you can participate in a special trek accompanied by tame donkeys, particularly suitable for families with children or those in search of relaxation. Our local guide will lead you on a walk suitable for everyone to discover the main sites in the area, including waterfalls and domus de janas, sites of archaeological and natural interest worthy of note, completely immersed in the wilderness, where the donkeys will set the pace. Several stops will be made to delve into the history of the place, amidst tales and anecdotes, and at the end of the experience a tasty typical Sardinian aperitif with local products will be served. A particularly evocative tour between relaxation, discovery and fun, not to be missed.

Children from 3 years old to 17 years old will be able to do part of the hike on the back of the donkey, where the trail allows safe walking.

PROGRAM

There are at least 5 stops of 10 minutes each, in the main sites of the area:

Romanesque church of Santa Maria e Contra
Anella waterfalls area called Siscia: here if you want, you can also swim in the natural pools! In that case you will need shoes suitable for getting wet to enter the pebble-bottomed pools
Ancient water mills
19th century lime kiln
Necropolis of Su Elighe Entosu with the visit of 3 domus de janas

APERITIF

During the experience will be served a typical Sardinian aperitif based on: cold cuts (eg raw ham, sausage, bacon, lard) and cheeses such as ricotta, peretta and pecorino, Carasau (typical Sardinian bread), water, white and red wines.

Een fantastische ervaring met super lieve mensen die erg goed zijn voor hun dieren! We werden vriendelijk ontvangen. Met een groep en 2 ezels hebben we een mooie, soms wat pittige wandeling gemaakt door de natuur. Veel moois gezien waaronder prachtige watervallen! Bij terugkomst stond er een tafel vol met eten en drinken. Echt een ervaring om nooit meer te vergeten!

Stavamo viaggiando insieme alla signora asino Katarina, che ha soddisfatto tutti i pregiudizi contro gli asini e ci ha fatto venire le lacrime agli occhi;) Le nostre guide ci hanno mostrato luoghi emozionanti in una natura apparentemente incontaminata. Alla fine siamo stati accolti in un clima familiare e ci hanno permesso di gustare specialità sarde fatte in casa.L'escursione è stata un successo totale e possiamo consigliarla senza esitazione!!!

Bellissima passegiata nella foresta con molte spiegazione sul luogo. Si visita una chiesa, un mulino, delle cascade, delle grotte, delle domus de Janas. La guida e appassionata da sui animali et della zona. Gli asini sono felici e belli. L’aperitivo era buonissimo con prodotti tipici sardi. Mi sono sentito come a casa. E l’attivita perfetta in famiglia per un momento di tranquillita.

Hello, this trekking with donkey was one of our best trips ever. Fabrizio and team are super kind. You feel this various nature and all the plants. The path is 90% under trees, so you never feel exhausted through the sun. It is walking in an own climate. Fabrizio explains all the different plants and flowers. Amazing water cascades and traditional places. At the end you are invited to taste his wine and own made cheese an food. Always again. This is a great alternative instead going to the beach

Der Ausflug lohnt sich. Man wird empfangen von einer freundlichen Familie, die sehr liebevoll umsorgten Esel werden vorbereitet und dann geht es los. Die Tour geht durch das Gelände, vorbei an Wasserläufen und tollen Aussichten. Man bekommt historisch interessante Informationen. Zurück am Hof werden die Tiere versorgt und man sitzt zum Essen und Trinken zusammen. Wein, Käse, Schinken, Brot aus eigener Produktion und zum Abschluss Kuchen, ein gelungener Abschluss mit der freundlichen Familie.

The tour was amazing! We were welcomed by the owners/operators of the donkey farm and then taken on a tour around the old area of the village, very impressive. The trek was as expected a challenge, but our guide made sure that we were always safe and had enough relaxation in between the stages. The donkey was, again, as expected, sometimes stubborn, which provided welcome breaks for us too. After we returned to the farm we were served amazing home-made products.
