The mountain village of Baddesalighes evokes fairy-tale atmospheres out of time and the world. A walk among the different shades of colors of its woods and the suggestive nineteenth-century villa as a background. Here the Welsh engineer Piercy had his home, who came to Sardinia for the construction of the Sardinian railway network, who fell in love with these places, to which the sweet childhood memories of his heir, no longer owner, are still linked. Next to the Villa there is a botanical garden with exotic species now more than 100 years old imported by Piercy on his travels abroad. A place of history, of nature, where Piercy had planted a thriving agricultural activity from which every day he sent milk to the Cagliari store and where today many shepherds have their own land and sheepfolds from which the herds transhumate towards the milder hill when the rigidity of winter arrives, and then brings them back to the grassy pastures in spring
