Take part in this guided trek starting from Domusnovas, in south-west Sardinia, which begins with a walk in a holm oak forest, will give you a mix of emotions of nature and history. The walk consists of a circular path that, starting from the church of San Giovanni, traces the old decauville of the Strada de su Vagoni between breathtaking views, mule tracks and roadways. After bypassing Mount Acqua, you descend from the valley of Oridda to the north entrance of the caves of San Giovanni, in a path surrounded by nature and among the many aneducts of our expert guide. Share it with your friends!
The excursion can be done in the morning or in the evening, but the times bookable may be subject to changes that will be agreed by phone after the reservation in order to adapt the experience according to the time of year, weather conditions, to temperatures, needs and possible visits to the sites.
The route is simple and suitable for everyone with a minimum slope, and overcoming in fact the first and only uphill stretch, you walk in tranquility along an almost flat path along a suggestive undergrowth rich in history that is divided between historical activities such as mining and woodland logging. The walk changes in its final part in which you enter the beauty of the underground karst giving us the crossing of one of the three longest walkable caves in the world. As in the rest of the walk, no excessive effort is required for the crossing of the site that develops in a single level and does not involve climbs or descents to lower levels of the subsoil.
There will be a small final aperitif with typical Sardinian products such as sausage, cheese and a glass of wine that may vary depending on the season.
